Senior or Staff Software Engineer (R2006)
Reports To: Director of Software Engineering

Summary
This position will be responsible for planning and development of Asante's L3 internetworking products. The successful candidate will combine a Layer 3 Switch development background with in depth project management, technical and creative skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Leading efforts of specifying, planning, implementation and testing of Layer 3 related features of Asante's IntraCore product line.
• Interact with Marketing and Sales to transform customer's feed back into future new features.
• Communicate and manage Asante partners to insure the success of acquiring the best possible solutions to customer's L3 requirements in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of working experience in Layer 3 software programming for switches androuters.
• Working knowledge of basic routing protocols : RIP, OSPF, DVMRP, and PIM.
• Working experience in programming in embedded software environment.
• Experience with Layer 2 switching such as Spanning tree, VLAN, SNMP, and IGMP.
• Experience with TCP/IP and Web based network management.
• Experience with market leading network management software such as HP OpenView is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with good organization skills, detail oriented.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and display strong self-initiative.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• B.A./B.S. from an accredited university/college or equivalent.
• 5 years minimum experience in website development and management including content, coding and design.
