Step 1: Recording your TCP/IP Settings

Open your computer's TCP/IP Control Panel.

  • Click and hold on the Apple Menu in the upper left corner of your screen
  • Move over Control Panels
  • Move to TCP/IP

It should look similar to this:

  1. Make sure Connect via is set to Ethernet, Ethernet built-in, or your 3rd party Ethernet adapter card is selected
  2. Record all of your current settings. You can either write them down or fill out this form and print it.
  3. Change Configure to Using DHCP Server.
  4. Close the TCP/IP control pannel and save your changes.
  5. Repeat steps 1, 3 and 4 for all other Macs you wish to connect to the router.
